BASIC JIU JITSU CLASSES
The Basic Class focuses on learning and applying fundamental techniques of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Students practice various techniques using a traditional Gi, also known as a kimono. Students learn and practice submissions, escapes, positioning, and self-defense. The basic class is designed not only for the beginner but also for more advanced students to sharpen basic BJJ skills. When a student joins the Northwest Jiu Jitsu Academy, they are closely monitored by the instructors and evaluated for advancement. Once a student has mastered a series of basic classes and logged the proper amount of sparring, students are awarded stripes and belts to track their progress in the art. We emphasize the mastery of 48 basic classes that are essential to a student’s success and progression in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
ADVANCED JIU JITSU CLASSES
Once a student has completed the first 12 classes of the basic 48 curriculum , he may attend the intermediate/advanced classes with the instructor’s permission. The intermediate/advanced classes will vary each night. Please check the schedule for class specifics.
